Conditions
Conditions in which Activated Charcoal needs care, as documented in this source.
Intestinal Obstruction
MajorCharcoal (with or without sorbitol) should not be used in the presence of a stomach or intestinal obstruction or absence of active bowel sounds. Delayed GI transit time or constipation can result in failure to excrete a drug- charcoal complex and may result in increased toxicity.
